Calculating number of bricks, quantity of cement and sand for Brickworks.
Assumptions:
1. The standard Size of Brick is 190 mm × 90 mm × 90mm
2. Thickness of mortar used is 10mm
For 1 cubic meter of Brickwork,
Volume of Brick without mortar = 0.190 × 0.09× 0.09
=0.001539 m3
Volume of Brick with mortar = 0.2 × 0.1× 0.1 =0.002 m3
For 1 m3 brickwork number of bricks required is
=1/0.002
=500 nos
Quantity of Mortar
= Volume of Wall – (volume of brick without mortar×number of bricks required)
=1- (0.001539 × 500)
=0.2305 cubic meter
Cement Sand Calculation For Cement Sand Ratio of 1:6
Mortar Quantity =0.2305 m3 (Wet Condition)
For dry mortar volume increase 33%
Dry Mortar volume = 0.2305×1.33
=0.306565m3
Quantity of Cement = 0.306565/(1+6) × 1 (1 Ratio of cement)
= 0.0043795 Cum
In Kg = 0.0043795 × 1440 (Density of cement = 1440 kg/m3)
= 63.0648 Kg
In Bags = 1.26 bags (1 bag of cement contain 50 Kg)
Quantity of Sand = 0.306565/(1+6) × 6 (4 Ratio of sand)
= 0.26277 Cum
Water Required = Cement quantity in Kg × 0.5(water cement ratio = 0.5)
= 63.0648 × 0.5
= 31.53 Liters
So for 1 m3 (In 1: 6 Cement sand Mortar) brickwork the required quantity of materials are :
Bricks : 500 Nos
Cement = 63 Kg
Sand = 0.26277 Cum
